I commented the following on a Facebook user’s post who encourages you to buy a gun to protect yourself. He removed my comment. So I decided to make this a post:
The 2 sons of Eli angered God – 1 Samuel 2:29
1. They kicked at the sacrifice
2. They robbed from the sacrifice. Took the fattest parts for themselves.
You removed my comment. What offense have you committed in so doing? Woe to you.
“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! – Matthew 18:6-7
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. – Matthew 7:21-23
The removed comment – No Guns!
Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. – Jeremiah 17:5
For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him. – Ezra 8:22
Thou shalt not kill. – Exodus 20:13
And he that killeth any man shall surely be put to death. – Leviticus 24:17
Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. – Genesis 9:6
Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. – Matthew 26:52
He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. – Revelation 13:10
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. – 2 Corinthians 2:11
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. – Psalm 91:9-16
